Below is a brief job description for our Instructional Assistant position. We are currently hiring and provide competitive salary and benefits.

The work year runs on an academic calendar of 42 weeks.  School is on recess for 10 weeks throughout year with a 6-week extended school year (aka summer program).

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care (including feeding and toileting) and educational services to students in a supportive learning environment

• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team in developing and adapting core curriculum and goals to suit students’ individual needs and working with families to support students in the classroom

• Ability to lift students, including up to teen-aged students, with variable weight either independently or with assistance; push a therapeutic mobility device (adapted tricycle) or wheelchair with the student on board; and bend, squat and reach to change protective undergarments, interact on the floor with students and assist in medical and behavioral emergencies and/or difficulties
